WHAT IS THE OIDE WIESN?
The Oide Wiesn is an actual Oktoberfest like the old days. The Oktoberfest Oide Wiesn or The Old Oktoberfest, is an entire park section which consists entirely of the old ways and pure traditions of Oktoberfest.
It was first opened in 2010 in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Oktoberfest and it was so good and got liked by people that they decided to make it permanent every year.
You can find it in the southern part of Theresienwiese. Walk past the Paulaner and Löwenbräu tents, wave to the Bavaria statue, keep going past Skyfall, and you’ll see the Oide Wiesn on your right. Check out this map for exact location details.
It’s the only Oktoberfest place that will charge you a ticket, But really 3€ for time travel back to the past is worth spending. I’m sure you won’t regret spending these 3€ for time travel back to old days.These 3€ will get you an wristband for all day long and you can come and go from the Oide Wiesn as you please (children 14 and under are free).At the Oide Wiesn, you’ll find nostalgic rides and games, traditional costumes, dancing, singing, and, of course, beer tents. Some things never change.
WHAT TO DO AT THE OIDE WIESN
You are thinking about what to do at Oide wiesn?? There is a lot to do at Oide wiesn.its fully loaded 90th century fun, that includes traditional costumes, 18th Century style horse racing, an animal tent, and a Museum Tent that shows the history at the Oktoberfest from September 21 to October 6, 2024. It is located in the southern part of Theresienwiese.
And above all that there are many historic rides like,merry-go-rounds and the Calypso, a marionette theater, And some traditional historic game, like throwing and shooting contests.A big attraction of the Oide Wiesn is that it offers a break from the craziness of modern Oktoberfest. It’s quieter here with less activity and probably less food being thrown around.
WHERE TO GO AT THE OIDE WIESN:
If you get past the rides, The Oide Wiesn has four main tents. In three of them, you can drink beer from traditional clay mugs. Did you know the word “stein” means “stone”?
What makes the Oide Wiesn so special:
At the southern part of Theresienwiese there is an old oktoberfest located, in which you get the vibes of old times. The Oide Wiesn features three large festival tents (Festzelt Tradition, Herzkasperlzelt, and Schützenliesl) As well as a museum tent. You can enjoy a lot of historic rides and amazingly low prices.
There are rides like, the 1919 “Kettenflieger Kalb,” “Dicke Berta,” “Fahrt ins Paradies,”(Ride to Paradise) and “Calypso.” Classics like the ship swing and children’s carousel, along with throwing and shooting booths, are also available at family-friendly prices. Each ride costs 1.50 euros. Admission is 4 euros for everyone over 15 years age, Kids and under 14 are free to enter The Oide Wiesn. Free Entry in the Oide Wiesn:
Going through the Old Oktoberfest at the end of a walk without paying admission is possible after 9 p.m. every day. The nostalgic rides continue to make their rounds until 11:30 p.m. at an unbeatable admission price of 1.50 euro. If you want to order something in one of the three marquees, you should hurry, because the bar ends at 10:30 p.m. However, no one will have to down their drink, because the tents will close one hour later at 11:30 p.m. At midnight, the Old Oktoberfest closes its doors.
