Paulaner Beer: A Bavarian Brewing Tradition
Paulaner beer was served in 1634 in Paulaner monastery, That makes Paulaner the youngest rosy-cheeked of Munich breweries. It’s almost 384 years old. It was named for Francis of Paolo founder of the Paulaner.
Paulaner
In the beginning, Paulaner beer was only reserved for the monk, it was just served during festivals. But later the Bock Beer based on a recipe by Brother Barnabas got much more popular among Munich Beer drinkers. That is when the lucky people of Germany were blessed with the Doppelbock Paulaner Salvator (Savior).
Its head office is located here at the Paulaner Nockherberg (Giesinger Nockherberg), where the annual Starkbierfest with the famous Politician Roast And The strong Beer festival each spring takes place. The Beer festival is named for Pauaner’s strong beer. Nowadays Breweries are located in Langwied Munich.
The Oktoberfest beer from Paulaner has 6.0% Alcohol and is served in the Armbrustschützenzelt, The Paulaner Festzelt the Käferzelt, the Kufflers Weinzelt (as wheat beer until 9 p.m.), the Heinz Wurst- und Hühnerbraterei, the Metzger Stubn, the Münchner Knödelei, and the Münchner Stubn. The Beer being sold at Oktoberfest is much lighter not the stronger.
