From where Oktoberfest starts?
Origin Of Oktoberfest is just amazing. Oktoberfest is a well known festival around the world, almost everyone knows that oktoberfest is connected to german roots, but only few people know about the history behind this fabulous event annually celebrated. Back in 1810 in Munich, Germany Oktoberfest originated as a celebration of the wedding between Crown Prince Ludwig (later known as King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on October 12th of that year. King Ludwig I invited the whole city to attend the wedding celebration that includes a great feast and horse races for people’s amusement.
It was such a great event that they decided to repeat the event of horse race and tradition of an annual Sep-Oct Gathering.
Origin Of Oktoberfest
In the end of 1800 a carnival aspect was added to the gathering which made it even more famous and attractive to families with children. As the time passed horse races stopped but the festival continued to grow. As for the Oktoberfest association with beer, In the Early 18’s the gatherings were prepared with beer stands but in 1896 they were replaced with large brewery sponsored Beer Tents.
