Hofbräu-Festzelt is one of the biggest beer tents at oktoberfest. If you have knowledge or you have read anything about Munich Germany, I’m sure you have come across the famous Hofbräuhaus. The Hofbräuhaus is a large Bavarian beer hall located in the city center. This tent is the offspring of Munich’s famous Hofbräuhaus that has been around since 1589.
Unlike the rest of the Oktoberfest tents Hofbräu-Festzelt is not that old, Actually Hofbräu-Festzelt started participating in Oktoberfest in 1955, And the beer tent we are Hofbräu-Festzelt is called the “Party Tent ” by many people, and it’s the only oktoberfest tent with standing room. Yes there is much space for standing, and drinking beer if you can’t find the seat to put your butt on. In the center of the tent are high top tables and room for almost 1000 people who prefer to drink standing up and party, until they cant anymore.
The Hofbräu Festzelt is the biggest party spot of Oktoberfest and generally caters to younger crowds. It’s decorated with their official mascot, Aloisius(a giant, red-faced, angel mailman), hanging from the ceiling, spinning around on his cloud. He’s the proof that Heaven approves of your beer drinking. You can tell your Mom/Dad we said that. 😀
The Hofbräu is one of the most popular beer tents with foreign visitors.
